Good to hear guys, are you cancelling Rivian and getting F150 Lighting. Lots of good Lighting deals about in USA. Failed purchases. Now on car dealer lot. Wish I could get one down here in Australia.
Depends on what you're towing, of course. The Ford has a range of about 250 miles; the Rivian we've ordered has a range of 400 miles. We hope to keep about 50 to 60% of the range when towing a 5,000 pound trailer.
And if the State and Federal governments plan to go all electric in the next 10 years, they better lead the CHARGE for better and more easily located chargers. (See what I did there?)
Perfect! And, you're right. If the government takes the position that there is a public benefit to the transition, it is obligated to help make that transition as easy as possible!
As always, you've hit the nail on the head and aggregated multiple news stories into something useful and easily digestible. While I do like the grocery store charging stop combo like the Midwest Hy-Vees with their Market Grille, high-quality coffee, and anything you could want while charging, the easy-on, easy-off of a travel center along the highway is hard to beat. My friend and EV enthusiast Ben Nelson made a video when he and I traveled to Fully Charged Live a few years ago: https://youtu.be/rOU_HsM2bVg
Also, since truck stops understand the value of pull-through sites and usually have quite a bit of real estate, let's home they communicate that design to Electrify America so that folks with EVs and trailers can just pull up, charge, and go spend money inside. Some high canopies for rainy and snowy days would be nice as well.
Thanks, too, for reminding me about the importance of pull-through charging configurations for charging!!! I need to remember to include that messaging every time I post!

Keep up the good work guys.
Haha. We're still waiting on the Rivian. It is a test of patience. :)
The Ford Lightnings seem to be great trucks, just lack the range we want for towing.
Arrh, whats the towing range of the Rivian?
